You'll start with sightseeing and a canal cruise in Amsterdam and end with guided sightseeing and leisure time in London. In between, you'll see some of Europe's must-see attractions, such as the Lion Monument in Lucerne; St. Mark's Square in Venice; the Colosseum, Sistine Chapel, and Vatican Museums in Rome; Signoria Square in Florence, the center of the city's political life since the 14th century; the amazing Leaning Tower in Pisa; and the Eiffel Tower, where you'll ride an elevator to the second floor for spectacular views of Paris. But that's not all. You'll have a beer at a local cafe in Heidelberg, take a romantic Rhine cruise past castle-crested cliffs and terraced vineyards, learn about woodcarving from a local woodcarver in Germany's Black Forest, enjoy a special dinner to try out local specialties in Venice, and a highlight of this European tour is an overnight stay in Monte Carlo. Also included is an overnight stay in Lyon, France's second-largest city where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the old town from Fourviere Hill; and a thrilling train ride on the high-speed Eurostar train.Globus has worked hard behind the scenes to ensure your time and fun is maximized. |Day 1||Amsterdam||Welcome to Amsterdam! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner with wine at your hotel. (D)|
|Day 2||Amsterdam||See the main sights of the 700-year-old capital with a Local Guide, like the Royal Palace, Mint Tower, the original Heineken Brewery, the Rijksmuseum, and more. Highlight is a leisurely CANAL CRUISE along the patrician mansions and gabled facades. Also visit a major DIAMOND CENTER. Later, you may wish to join an optional excursion to visit a cheese farm, a clog maker, and a working windmill, followed by dinner in the pretty fishing village of Volendam. (B)|
|Day 3||Rhineland||On the way to Germany, pass the Dutch region best known as the locale of A Bridge Too Far. Highlight of the day is a romantic RHINE CRUISE past castle-crested cliffs, terraced vineyards, and half-timbered towns. Stop in Heidelberg and take pictures of the famous red-walled castle ruins. |Day 4||Lucerne||Stop in the lush valleys and pine-clad hills of the BLACK FOREST, renowned for its cuckoo clocks, hear about the art of WOODCARVING from a local woodcarver, Adolf Herr, and enjoy a taste of traditional fruit wine. On the Swiss border, admire the thundering RHINE FALLS, then continue to picturesque Lucerne. Tonight is your chance to enjoy an optional Swiss folklore party. (B)|
|Day 5||Innsbruck||Admire Thorwaldsen's LION MONUMENT, walk through the Old Town, and cross the famous covered CHAPEL BRIDGE to the Jesuit Church. Time to shop for Swiss watches or climb lofty Mount Pilatus. On your way to Austria, stop in the Principality of Liechtenstein, then, drive through Austria's most famous ski area and enter Tyrol. In Innsbruck, walk through the Old Town and take pictures of Emperor Maximilian's GOLDEN ROOF. (B,D)|
|Day 6||Venice||Cross spectacular Brenner Pass to Italy. Enter Venice in style by PRIVATE BOAT to ST. MARK'S SQUARE and admire the byzantine basilica, lavish Doges' Palace with its Bridge of Sighs, and watch skilled GLASSBLOWERS fashion their delicate objects. You may wish to join an optional gondola ride, and later, [LF] a special dinner with wine awaits you at Rossopomodoro restaurant. (B,D)|
|Day 7||Rome||A scenic drive across the Apennine Hills and through vine- and olive-clad Tuscany brings you to the 'Eternal City.' (B)|
|Day 8||Rome||Globus' unique guided sightseeing includes inside visits to the VATICAN MUSEUMS and SISTINE CHAPEL with Michelangelo's ceiling paintings and The Last Judgment, and monumental ST. PETER'S SQUARE and BASILICA to admire Michelangelo's Pieta. Then, drive to the Roman Forum and visit the amazing COLOSSEUM, where gladiators once fought. For those who wish to see it all, an optional walking tour with a Local Guide is available to further explore famous sites, like the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and more. (B)|
|Day 9||Florence||Florence, where your guided walking tour features a visit to the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS with Michelangelo's celebrated David. Admire the magnificent cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistry's heavy bronze 'Gate of Paradise,' and visit sculpture-studded SIGNORIA SQUARE. |Day 10||FlMonte Carlo||In Pisa, marvel at the amazing Leaning Tower, 180 feet high and 12 feet out of the perpendicular. Then, follow the Italian Riviera and arrive in [LF] Monte Carlo for an orientation drive and your overnight stay. Tonight, you may wish to join an exciting optional excursion to see the palace and the church that houses the tombs of the rulers of Monaco, have dinner, and visit the casino. (B)|
|Day 11||Lyon||Join the panoramic Moyenne Corniche, with spectacular views to Nice as you drive along the famous Promenade des Anglais. Then, turn north along the scenic Route du Soleil on your way to Lyon, former capital of the Gaules. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Old Town, beautifully located between the Rhone and the Saone Rivers, from FOURVIeRE HILL. (B,D)|
|Day 12||Paris||A smooth drive through Burgundy, with its vineyards, impressive castles, and views of Fontainebleau Forest, brings you to Paris, 'City of Light.' |Day 13||Paris||Discover the world capital of chic and style with a Local Guide and admire its most renowned sites: the Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, and more. For a bird's-eye view, take the elevator to the second floor of Paris' most iconic landmark, the EIFFEL TOWER. Choose from our optional excursions to the lavish baroque Palace and Gardens of Versailles, and in the evening, a Seine cruise with dinner at one of Paris' lively restaurants to say au revoir, Paris. Booking your Vacation with Air
For air departure dates within 331 days, you'll be offered a choice of carriers and flight schedules as well as price points to choose from when selecting your flights. Your schedule will be provided to you at the time of booking (schedules are subject to change by carriers). Globus offers 2 air options: Flex Air and Instant Purchase Air. Flex Air allows flexibility if you want to make changes to your vacation schedule. Instant Purchase Air may offer additional airline options but has more restrictions. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option. Guaranteed air-inclusive prices: air is only available to passengers traveling from the United States and only available when booked in conjunction with a land vacation. An additional $300 per person non-refundable air deposit is required for Flex Air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e. air-inclusive vacation). Air can only be booked by Globus in conjunction with a vacation package. Instant Purchase Air requires air payment in full at time of booking (i.e. air-inclusive vacation) plus non-refundable per person service fee ($30 for North/Central America, $50 for Europe/Middle East and $80 for all other destinations. Once booked, Instant Purchase Air is non-refundable, and non-changeable. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option. However, once your airfare is confirmed and Globus has received your full air and land deposit, your air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed.

For return travel from some countries, international travelers are required to pay entry and/or exit fees at the airport.
